A warm breeze is blowing, cherry trees are blossoming, and the Detroit River has completely thawed; welcome to spring in Detroit! Take advantage of the season’s most beloved events, including Flower Day at Eastern Market, concerts at Ford Field, along with plenty of refreshing sights and tasty beverages. And while you’re at it, discover where to park and great places to hang out in Detroit this spring!

Get inspired at the Spring Home & Garden Show

It’s called spring cleaning for a reason. There’s something about the transformation of the season that makes us want to plant gardens, tidy up, and begin home improvement projects. This year’s Home and Garden Show runs Saturday, March 18th, from 10am-7pm to Sunday, March 19th, from 10am-5pm at the Huntington Place. Network with professionals, take in a demonstration, and gain valuable ideas from this popular event.

Park at the garage on 621 1st Street, which is only one block away from the venue.

Shop at Eastern Market

Eastern Market has been attracting visitors from all over the country for the last 125 years. This uniquely Detroit attraction is not your average farmer’s market. Over 225 vendors featuring produce, art, food, and live music line six blocks of warehouses. Mark your calendar for Flower Day on Sunday, May 21st to shop a gorgeous selection of locally grown blooms.

Avoid the congestion at Eastern Market by parking at 150 Michigan Avenue and taking the bus from the nearby Rosa Parks Transit Center.

Grab a coffee and take a stroll downtown

Downtown Detroit is home to many artisan coffee shops. There is no better way to enjoy the upbeat vibes of spring than by taking in the scenery with a cup of joe in hand. Grab a delicious cortado at the Dessert Oasis Coffee Roasters or order a freshly roasted Zen Blend to go from The Roasting Plant.

Park at 150 Michigan Avenue to be near all the action!

Catch a game at Comerica Park

Taking in a ballgame at Comerica Park is a spring necessity. Tigers’ games aren’t just for adults! The stadium is practically bursting with family-friendly attractions like a 50-foot Ferris wheel, themed carousel, and face painting station. Plus, an incredible fireworks display lights up the sky every Friday night. There’s so much to do, you might even forget about the game!

Park at the 440 Madison Street lot to be walkable to Comerica Park!

Enjoy a show at Ford Field

When it’s not housing the Detroit Lions, Ford Field transforms into a first-class entertainment venue, hosting family-fun events and some of the biggest celebrity names. Take the whole family to the Monster Jam on March 11th and 12th. Catch the Luke Combs World Tour on April 22nd. Maybe you already scored tickets for the Taylor Swift concerts on June 9th and 10th.

Park right by Ford Field at the surface lot at 461 Gratiot Avenue or in the garage at 440 Madison Street.

Don’t let poor planning stop you from enjoying Downtown Detroit during this beautiful season. Park Rite offers secure parking options near all of Detroit’s most popular spring events and attractions. Check out the map below to view all of our locations.
